User Tip: Current Events for Students

In the way of an addition to our recent post about changing the news headlines in your Soomo course, here’s a tip from Associate Professor, Joe Lane at Emory and Henry College.

If you want to make it even easier for your students to read the exact news articles that you’ve picked, make an assignment—Joe calls his “Daily Readings”—and copy/paste the news links that you like. He updates the assignment every week and keeps the list in Chapter 1, so students know just where to find it. You could also make each news article its own assignment and add a question asking students to summarize the main points.  Simple enough? Contact the PoliSci Desk if you’d like more info.
